GAETANO PALERMO
Gaetano Palermo (Catania, 1998) is an artist, choreographer and director. His research investigates the ontology of performance and the boundary between reality and fiction. He studied Philosophy in Bologna and Theater and Performing Arts at IUAV University of Venice. In 2019 he attended the advanced training course Il Ritmo Drammatico directed by Societas. In 2021/22 he served as a performer in the Bruce Nauman - Contrapposto Studies exhibition at Punta della Dogana in Venice. In 2023 he won Biennale College Teatro - Performance Site Specific with the performance Swan, currently being distributed in Italy and abroad, which was also recognized with the Urban Dance XL and Dancescapes Mobility Grant. In the same year he won the call ERetici - Le strade dei teatri with the project The Garden, supported by Centro di Residenza dell'Emilia-Romagna and the Mic. In 2024 he was awarded, together with Michele Petrosino, the Cosmo Giani Prize of the Emilia-Romagna Region for the performance Still.
